Privacy Policy

This policy explains what CivicVane ("we") collects when you use civicvane.com and how we use it. We keep it short because we collect very little.

What we collect

• Order details you give us: organization name, EIN (optional), mission, service area, program focus, budget range, foundation names, notes and your email address.
• Payment: payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe shares with us the payment status, amount and the email and name used at checkout.
• Funding alerts list: if you sign up for our free weekly funding alerts, we keep your email address, the date you signed up and your confirmation status, and use it only to send the alerts. Every email will include a way to unsubscribe, and you can ask us to remove you at any time.
• Basic technical data: our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes IP addresses and similar request data to deliver the site and block abuse. We use IP addresses briefly to limit spam submissions. We count page views per page and day without cookies or personal identifiers. We don't use advertising trackers.

Advertising

We may advertise on Google Search. We don't add Google tracking tags or cookies to our site. If you arrive from one of our ads, the page address may include a Google click ID (gclid), and our server logs may record it along with the page you viewed. Google handles ad clicks under its own privacy policy.

How we use it

To prepare and deliver your report, to send you order and delivery emails, to answer your questions, to handle refunds, and to keep records required for tax and accounting.

Who we share it with

We never sell your data. We share it only with the services that run CivicVane (Cloudflare hosting, Stripe payments, our email provider). We don't share it with funders.

Public data

Our reports are built from public records such as IRS filings and government statistics. Foundation contact details in reports are the organizational contacts that funders publish.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for up to 3 years for support and accounting, then delete them. You can ask us to delete your order details sooner, unless we need to keep a record by law.
